Hailing from Algeria, Sofiane Saidi presents an electrifying reinvention of the Raï music genre. His journey begins in the city of Sid bel Abbes, the cradle of Raï from which legendary bands such as Raina Rai emerged, with whom Saidi toured the world. However, it was in Paris, at the intersection between the cultural melting pot of the Algerian diaspora, the emergence of new wave, the rave movement and Parisian underground life that Saidi forged his way of making music and won the crown of ‘Prince of Raï 2.0’, as he is nicknamed. Over the years he has collaborated with many musicians, including the electronic duo Acid Arab and the oriental electro-rock trio Mademoiselle.
