Desidério Lázaro – saxophone
André Rosinha – double bass
João Sousa – drums
With his tenth album of originals, saxophonist Desidério Lázaro continues to add points to a remarkable career. And it’s a good time to return to the trio format and classic instrumental chess, with saxophone, double bass and drums, which he did in the past with ‘Rotina Impermanente’, his debut album, released in 2010 by JACC Records (in a trio with Mário Franco and Luís Candeias) and ‘Cérebro: Estado Zero’, three years later, with the same adventure partners. In between was ‘Samsara’, from 2012, at the start of Sintoma Records, a label founded by Lázaro and other musicians. ‘MicrUs’, the new record, also marks the return of the label, which is to be welcomed. As usual with Lázaro’s albums, there is always a philosophical concept behind the music, the result of personal reflections on the human condition and the emotions it triggers.
