The Intervention Brigade, through the Army Symphonic Band and the Classical Orchestra of the Centre, is promoting a New Year’s Concert open to the public.

The Army Symphonic Band, heir to the oldest musical traditions of the Portuguese Army, is made up of 80 musicians, including wind, string and percussion sections, and in addition to the military band, there are several chamber music groups. It regularly collaborates with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Orchestra and the Orquestra Clássica do Centro.

One of the main objectives of the Orquestra Clássica do Centro is to promote musical culture, increase the pedagogical aspect and provide an appetite for listening to and appreciating classical music. Its principal conductor since March 2022 has been Sergio Alapont.
