The ‘Café Curto’ cycle invites the public to sit down to music every Tuesday at 7.30pm at the Café Concerto Coimbra in the Convento São Francisco. This programme is curated by Blue House and supported by Coimbra City Council.

Flak + Hugo Gambóias

Flak is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and improviser with more than forty years of musical experience, which has spanned rock, free improvisation, electronica, film compositions and dance shows. He co-founded Rádio Macau, with whom he released eight discs. He made his solo debut in 1998 and has an award-winning discography. He has produced and edited several discs, both by established names and emerging bands. He is currently preparing a tour for 2024, the result of a collaboration between Micro Audio Waves and Rui Horta. In this Café Duplo, he is joined by Hugo Gamboias, master and specialist of the Portuguese guitar. He collaborates with the cultural association “Fado ao Centro” and is part of various projects including Fitacola, Pensão Flor and the duo In.dia. His mission is to take the Portuguese guitar to explore new sound horizons, where creative expression is unlimited.
