Julia Mestre, a singer and songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, stands out as one of the most acclaimed names in the new generation of Brazilian music. With a strong, husky voice and charisma on stage, Julia has accumulated projects, awards and outstanding collaborations with artists such as the Portuguese Maro, Caetano Veloso, the band Gilsons, rapper BK and the duo Anavitória, among others. Julia is also a founding member of Bala Desejo, a project with musicians Dora Morelenbaum, Lucas Nunes and Zé Ibarra. With Bala Desejo, she won the Latin Grammy for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese in 2022, as well as other national awards. Together with the band, the artist has travelled the world, performing on stages in the United States, Europe and Japan.
