Pianist, improviser and composer Joana Sá brings to the stage Corpo-escuta / A body as listening, a new solo for piano and electronics, and the latest fragment of a much wider project.
A body as listening – resonant cartography of music (im)materialities is a type of work we don’t come across very often.
This project unfolds in several different formats which, although autonomous, complement and enrich each other. A book, published by Sistema Solar/Teatro Praga, a virtual installation – which can be visited at www.abodyaslistening.com- a disc published by Clean Feed and a conference-performance are the outputs that make up this project by Joana Sá. Each of these parts is a marker on the path that the pianist began to tread, a path that seems to guide her to this moment, the show that she is now preparing in co-creation with Daniel C Neves (visual conception), Henrique Fernandes (body-listening device) and Teresa Silva (movement support) and which will premiere in January 2024.
