FRANCIS SALEMA
Francis Salema is a 20-year-old non-binary student and artist from Lisbon, but based in Coimbra. Music has always played a central role in his life – at the age of 6 he learned to play the guitar, then the cello and later music production. At the age of 12 he began writing his own songs and making art his life became his dream. Since then, they have never stopped letting their experiences and feelings overflow into songs that become portraits of their subjectivity in certain spaces and times, singing about pain, love, social environments and relationships of all kinds in the intense way that characterises how they live their life. He performs live with artistic influences ranging from fado to folk and from rock to bossa nova. In 2023, he was one of those selected by the MIC – Música Independente de Coimbra (Independent Music of Coimbra) call for entries, promoted by Blue House and the Coimbra City Council.
DAVI SANTIAGO
Davi Santiago, a biology student at the University of Aveiro, is a young emerging musician who expresses art in its most authentic essence. From an early age, art permeated his life: in secondary school, with a course in visual arts, he explored drawing, painting, digital animation and poetry with dedication, making these expressions a reflection of his restless and creative soul. At the age of 16, his passion for music found a new path when he received his first acoustic guitar, ushering in a phase of his own compositions and adding even more depth to his artistic repertoire. He was recently selected by the MIC – Música Independente de Coimbra (Independent Music of Coimbra) call for entries, promoted once again by Blue House and the Coimbra City Council.
