The show is scheduled for the 21st, at 9 p.m., at Pátio das Escolas, and is part of a broader programme by Sons da Cidade that evokes ‘Versos do Tempo, Vozes do Património’ (Verses of Time, Voices of Heritage).
Fado singer Mariza will be in Coimbra on the 21st for a show that is part of the celebrations of the 12th anniversary of the classification of the University of Coimbra, Alta and Sofia as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
The commemorative concert, which will take place at 9 p.m. at Pátio das Escolas, is part of the Sons da Cidade festival programme and aims to mark the 735th anniversary of the University of Coimbra, as well as the 700th anniversary of the death of King Dinis. ‘Flores do Verde Ramo’ (Flowers of the Green Branch), the theme of the concert, which will be free to attend, will feature, in addition to fado singer Mariza, the early music group The Wandering Bard (TWB Ensemble), with Margarida Belo Costa as artistic director.
