Damjan Pejcinoski (Macedonia) is one of today’s most versatile and award-winning guitarists. He mixes his Gypsy Jazz roots with Jazz Fusion, Blues, Rock, Country and traditional Balkan music.
In 2009 he was a finalist in the ‘Guitar Idol’ World Competition. And in 2010 he won the international guitar competitions ‘Shred This Too’ and ‘Ziua Chitarelor’. Damjan has appeared as a soloist with the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus, was Head of the Guitar Department at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, and received the ‘Excellence in Performance’ award after touring China with his Gypsy Jazz band.
This musician’s level of excellence has led several world experts to include him in the list of the 200 greatest guitarists in rock history! Pejcinoski has collaborated with dozens of top musicians and was the first musician from South-Eastern Europe to be sponsored by PRS (Paul Reed Smith Guitar Company), alongside legends such as Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola and Dave Navarro.
After tours of Australia, China, the USA, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Kosovo and Macedonia, Damjan Pejcinoski finally arrives at the Django Portugal Festival to give us the music closest to his roots: Gypsy Jazz and Traditional Balkan Music.
