Birds Are Indie, a trio from Coimbra made up of Ricardo Jerónimo, Joana Corker and Henrique Toscano, will be 15 years old in 2025. An impressive milestone for a band that began in February 2010 in a cold room in Coimbra, with an out-of-tune guitar and a small tambourine.
Over the course of a decade and a half, they’ve released six albums, several EPs and singles, performed hundreds of concerts in Portugal and Spain, learnt to play various instruments and even started to enjoy being on stage. But, as they confess, they never completely got rid of the ‘imposter syndrome’, a sensation that gave its name to the anniversary celebrations: ‘15 years of imposter syndrome’.
To mark the date, Birds Are Indie have prepared a special vinyl edition, with the Lux Records label, and a mini-tour that kicks off in Coimbra, at Salão Brazil, with two unmissable concerts and totally different line-ups.
The doors open at 21.30 and the concerts start at 22.00. Tickets cost €10 for one night and €15 for two nights. They will be available on the days of the concerts at Salão Brazil, from the door opening and at the usual points of sale.
– 7 February 2025 (with Bea Bandeirinha in the 1st half)
– 8 February 2025 (with Rapaz Improvisado in the 1st part)
Both nights feature special guests who will join the trio on stage to revisit their discography, making these performances truly unique.
Special guests at the Coimbra concerts:
Ana Trindade (Marta Bajouco Trio), Bea Bandeirinha, Filipe Fidalgo (Filipe Furtado Trio/help!), Francisco Frutuoso (Eigreen/Human Natures), João Fragoso (Duques do Precariado), Joel Madeira (Rapaz Improvisado/Ricardo Grácio Trio), Leonel Mendrix (Rapaz Improvisado/Fio-Manta) and Sofia Leonor (So Dead/From Atomic).
