The New Year’s Concerts began in 1939, but it wasn’t until 1945 that they became a great annual occasion to greet the New Year in a spirit of hope, friendship and peace. From the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, the Orquestra Clássica do Centro performs its New Year’s Concert every year in the same spirit, marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss and the 150th anniversary of the death of Georges Bizet in 2025.
The Orquestra Clássica do Centro will be joined by soprano Silvia Sequeira and its principal conductor, Sergio Alapont.
