Zeca Medeiros is a musician, composer, actor and director. His works are part of the national collective memory and are pure references in cinema and public television. Series such as Mau Tempo no Canal, Xailes Negros or Gente Feliz com Lágrimas are examples of his versatility and talent. As well as directing these works, he was also the composer of their soundtracks. In some cases, he gave voice to performers such as Minela, Dulce Pontes or Susana Coelho.
After Aprendiz de Feiticeiro (Sorcerer’s Apprentice), the singer-songwriter is back on original discs with A Dúvida Soberana (The Sovereign Doubt). It’s an almost conceptual project, where the artist from São Miguel is surrounded by a series of great instrumentalists and some brilliant voices from our music scene: Filipa Pais, João Afonso, Katia Guerreiro, Carlos Guerreiro, Manuel Rocha, Rafael de Carvalho or Carlos Peninha, addressing the theme of sea voyages, where even the opening composition of the disc celebrates the ‘finding’ of the island of Santa Maria. Maria.
He’s back, a remarkable craftsman of words, a portraitist of sea voyages and a pilgrim of great emotions, who once again surprises with his creative flair and the excellence of his proposals, while once again becoming a pilgrim of earthly and maritime adventures and, above all, a charismatic alchemist of Portuguese popular music.
In this live show, Zeca Medeiros is accompanied by his special guest Filipa Pais (voice), Jorge A. Silva (piano), Gil Alves (woodwind and percussion) and Rogério Cardoso Pires (guitar).
