Rodrigo Silveira is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, art educator and multi-instrumentalist who has been living in Portugal since 2019. His work is strongly linked to Brazilian culture and expressions.
He is an artist on the rise, committed to promoting Brazilian culture and emerging as one of the most promising names in local music.
Since arriving in the country, he has been an important cultural actor in the local context, responsible for pioneering projects such as the Coimbra Carnival, the ‘Bloco do Beco’, and meetings of composers.
This leading role has seen him share the stage with names such as Janine Mathias, Maikão, Íria Braga, Flávia Bittencourt, among others, and he is currently working on a project with renowned musician Armandinho Macêdo.
He is often called upon for important festivals and programmes in the region, such as ‘Apura’, ‘Epicentro’ and ‘Verão a dois tempos’, as well as activities and cycles linked to the Blue House production company.
Through crowdfunding, Rodrigo Silveira released his first album, ‘Pensamento Voa’. Recorded under the Pedra Redonda label in Porto Alegre and featuring the renowned KIAI Group, the compositions are all the artist’s own and reflect his experiences and feelings as an immigrant.
The process of moving, adapting to a new country, feelings of insecurity, fear, anguish and longing have moulded the narratives of the young artist, who shapes the album with what he calls ‘immigrant feelings’.
The technical file contains executive production by Thais Andrade, musical production by Marcelo Vaz, and is hosted by the ‘Pedra Redonda’ label. The album’s design and visual identity were
developed by Gabriella Borges. Photographs by Bruna Macedo. The videos were shot by Yan Badachu, Emerson Coutinho (Casa Muda de Lugar) and edited by Rodrigo Silveira.
