Edition Redux is the latest project by Ken Vandermark, a central figure in jazz and improvised music for the last 25 years and the driving force behind projects such as
The Vandermark 5, FME, The Territory Band, The Resonance Ensemble, Made To Break and Marker. In Edition Redux, we find him side by side with Erez Dessel (keyboards), Lily Finnegan (drums) and Beth McDonald (tuba/electronics), worthy representatives of the next wave of creative music coming out of Chicago.
The music on Edition Redux encompasses the full range of Vandermark’s interests and influences, from AACM’s experimental jazz to post-punk, from tropicália to dub.
They are now returning (in November 2024) to play concerts in Europe, where they will be the protagonists at various festivals. In Portugal, they will perform in Coimbra (Salão Brazil) and Lisbon (Galeria Zé dos Bois).
