800 GONDOMAR are often perceived as one of the strongest live acts in Portuguese music, with their characteristic blend of distorted and noisy garage rock, always ready to take any stage or audience they come across by storm. Their debut LP – Linhas de Baixo – elevated them to a prominent position in Portuguese alternative rock, with over a hundred performances all over the country and a six-week European tour. Highlights include prime-time concerts at festivals such as NOS Alive (Lisbon, PT) and sharing the stage with bands such as Thee oh Sees, The Black Lips and Fat White Family, among others. After a five-year hiatus, and a brief reheating tour with stops in Greece and Macedonia, the 800 Gondomar are preparing to release their second LP – SÃO GUNÃO – a refined ode to suburban maturity, full of singles and experimentation, which aims to reaffirm their status as a band not to be missed on the domestic circuit, but not only.
