Maurice Louca – electronics
Sam Shalabi – electric guitar
Alan Bishop – vocals, saxophone, guitar
Founded in Cairo in 2012 by Maurice Louca, Sam Shalabi and Alan Bishop, the Dwarfs of East Agouza create free music, with one foot in krautrock and the other in jazz, combining influences from Arabic music, particularly Egyptian Shaabi.
They have played all over Europe, the Middle East and North America, and on this tour (which in Portugal will also take in the Bairro Alto Theatre, as well as the Salão Brazil) they will be presenting their most recent album, High Tide in the Lowlands, released in 2023 by Sub Rosa. We also know that the line-up will include songs that will appear on their next album, due for release in the coming months.
